COLUMBUS, Ohio – January 5, 2006 - Jerry Guirlinger, a finalist for Inventor of the Year in the 2004 TopCAT (The Top Contributors to the Advancement of Technology) Awards presented by the Columbus Technology Council (CTC), reached a significant milestone on Thursday when he personally delivered the Mobile-Shop Company’s first product to Leonard Drimmer, Sr. VP of Canadian based TransGlobe Property Management Services. TransGlobe currently has 11,000 units and 4 million sq. ft. of office space and plans to add 50 more properties to their portfolio in 2006.
“We are proud and excited to deliver the first Mobile-Shop to TransGlobe. They have waited patiently for over 18 months to receive it and we have waited over seven years to deliver it” said Guirlinger, inventor of the Mobile-Shop System™- the revolutionary new tool and parts organizational system for property maintenance and construction professionals - and president of the company that bears its name.

Noting that TransGlobe has won awards for professionalism in the property management industry, Guirlinger calls the company the “perfect fit” for the Mobile-Shop: “TransGlobe was just recently awarded the “Best Property Management firm in Canada” by REMY, a leading Canadian apartment owners association. For Leonard, Mobile-Shop is just another way that TransGlobe can be much better than its competition. Until now, they have never bought tools for their technicians. They so clearly see the benefits that they are willing to completely rearrange the way they currently do maintenance around the Mobile-Shop System.
They are committed to bringing the highest levels of professionalism and integrity to their clients, and Mobile-Shop Company is committed to helping conscientious property management companies like TransGlobe achieve this goal by supplying them with innovative maintenance solutions.”
Guirlinger, whose development of the Mobile-Shop was based on his own experience as an owner and manager of residential real estate, aims to usher in a new, higher standard of efficiency and professionalism
in the building maintenance industry. A self-acknowledged “organizational freak,” Guirlinger has always recognized the powerful impact of improved efficiencies on the bottom line of his business. He set out seven years ago to tackle the problems caused by disorganization and inefficiency in the property maintenance arena. Such problems- including lost and stolen tools and parts, valuable time wasted searching and/or running to buy new ones, and sloppy or neglected work due to the right tool or part not being on hand when needed – were, by Guirlinger’s estimate, costing his management company tens of thousands of dollars per year.
Unable to find a solution to his problem in the marketplace, Guirlinger decided to create his own. The resulting Mobile-Shop System, refined over the years through use by property maintenance professionals, created a word-of-mouth frenzy when it was unveiled at national trade shows, and in 2005 the Mobile-Shop Company qualified for the Ohio Technology Investment Tax Credit Program, which offers a tax break to Ohio residents who invest in technology industries.
The product’s debut at the 2004 National Apartment Association trade show was attended by TransGlobe Vice President Leonard Drimmer, who quickly became one of Mobile-Shop’s most enthusiastic fans. Drimmer has waited patiently ever since for the product to become commercially available – even increasing his order by 300% in the meantime. His patience was finally rewarded on Thursday when he received his first unit, and he and Guirlinger both anticipate a long – and profitable – partnership. |
